Medscope ensures consumer privacy and confidentiality and is bound by the 10 National Privacy Principles, (December 2001), which forms part of the Privacy Act 1988. This privacy statement discloses what information Medscope gathers and how we use it.

Collection of personal information

Automatic Collection of Information:
You need not disclose your identity to Medscope in order to use this website in demonstration mode. This website does not collect personal information about people who access the website, except to the extent provided by you upon or consequent to registration or as discussed below. Medscope’s internet server may automatically record details about any computer used to access this website (such as IP address, domain name and browser type), the date and time of access, and details of the information downloaded. This information is used for internal statistical purposes and to improve this website.

Registration as a Medication Review Manager (MRM™) member
If you have registered to use the MRM™ application then we will record your user name and password when you login along with any information entered into the preferences section of your profile.

Registration for using the Professional Development Program (PDP)
If you have registered to use the PDP application, we will record your user name and password when you login, along with any other information required by that program.

Message boards/forums/FAQ's
Access to Message boards and Forums is only available to registered users of MRM™ or PDP.

Surveys
Medscope may conduct user surveys to request feedback to progress the innovative approach to Medication Reviews being developed. We do not re-sell our database onto third parties.

Use of personal information

Medscope will use personal information for the purposes for which it was collected and related purposes (which are normally clear when it is collected) including to:
  • Provide, administer and manage the services you require;
  • Manage Medscope’s relationship with you, including helping Medscope identify and inform you of other products and services to enhance your use of our products and services;
  • Continually improve Medscope’s products and services; and
  • Meet any regulatory and reporting compliance requirements.

Disclosure of personal information

For the purposes set out above Medscope may disclose your personal information to third parties. The third parties to which Medscope discloses information may include:
  • on a confidential basis to external service providers so they can provide other services in connection with our business.

Medscope will not:

Using non-identifiable health information for research

Medscope may use personal information that does not identify you in research projects and the compilation or analysis of statistics relevant to public health.

Medscope will collect personal information about third party individuals from you through your use of the MRM™. Any personal information collected by Medscope will be treated in the same manner as your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. You are responsible for ensuring that each of these persons are aware of and accept this Privacy Policy.

Storing and securing personal information

Medscope will take reasonable steps to ensure that your personal information is kept secure, accurate and up to date. Medscope’s employees, agents and contractors are required to respect the confidentiality of any personal information held by Medscope.

Medscope will not be responsible for events which may arise from unauthorised access to your personal information. To assist in preventing unauthorised access it is important for you to maintain the confidentiality of any password(s) issued by Medscope.

Access to and correction of personal information

You have the right to access any personal information Medscope holds about you and the right to correct that information if it is inaccurate. If you wish to access this information please send us an email providing details of the nature of the personal information provided and when it would have been provided. We will endeavour to respond to your request within 30 days.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

Medscope reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy from time to time, any changes will be effective on posting on this website.
